«Sky’s Edge» explora la multidimensionalidad del espacio digital, anticipando un mundo de un futuro cercano donde las pantallas sin bordes enriquecen la experiencia cotidiana; donde humanos y seres no humanos participan como sujetos en un gabinete digital de curiosidades; donde lo efímero se convierte en fallos técnicos, y estos, en kitsch. En un mundo cada vez más desarraigado y sin lugar, «Sky’s Edge» anhela restaurar la capacidad narrativa, la conexión y el sentido de pertenencia como antídoto contra el desarraigo, la ansiedad y el duelo. Diversas metodologías y enfoques, desde lo artesanal y lo prefabricado hasta lo generativo, se integran en la estética visual característica del dúo artístico y reflejan cómo los mitos y las bases del conocimiento influyen en los individuos y crean culturas híbridas. Inspirada en la tradición literaria coreana de los relatos de viajes «Gasa», un género poético que aborda la naturaleza, la belleza, las virtudes y el juego, popularizado por mujeres desde el siglo XV, la obra dramatiza la
teatralidad de la inseparabilidad entre lo natural y lo sintético.
“Sky’s Edge” explores the multidimensionality of screen space, teasing a near-future world where ‘screens without edges’ augment everyday experience; where humans and more-than-humans alike act as participant subjects in a digital cabinet of curiosities; where ephemera is glitch, and glitch becomes kitsch. In an increasingly rootless and placeless world, “Sky’s Edge” longs to restore narrative agency, connection, and belonging as an antidote to displacement, anxiety, and grief. Mixed fidelities and methodologies, from ‘handmade,’ ‘readymade,’ to ‘generative,’ cohere into the artist duo’s signature visual ethos and reflect how myths and knowledge bases influence individuals and create hybrid cultures. Inspired by the Korean literary tradition of “Gasa” travelogues, a poetry genre that touches on nature, beauty, virtues, and play popularized by women since the 15 th century, the performance dramatizes the theatricality of natural and synthetic inseparability.

Laura Hyunjhee Kim (lauraonsale.com) is a Korean-American multimedia artist who creates post-disciplinary performances to reimagine human and nonhuman interaction through embodied ways of knowing. Kim received numerous awards, including the
Judson-Morrissey Excellence in New Media Award and the Black Cube Video Art Award, and has shown work around the world, recently including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, KADIST, Pioneer Works, Harvestworks, Transfer Gallery, Telematic Media Arts, Vector Festival, Centro Cultural São Paulo, Athens Digital Art Festival, and Theatre of Digital Art in Dubai. She is the author of “Entering the Blobosphere: A Musing on Blobs” (The Accomplices) and coauthor of “Remixing Persona: An Imaginary Digital Media Object from the Onto-Tales of the Digital Afterlife” (Open Humanities Press). Kim is an Assistant Professor of Visual and Performing Arts in Global Performance Studies at The University of Texas at Dallas, living and working in the company of neighboring songbirds, squirrels, and wild rabbits of Texas.
Chris Corrente (chriscorrente.com) works across video, performance, image generation, research, and music. His work is absurdist and discordant, filtering tropes of academia, high art, pop, and corporate culture through an irreverent lens. Corrente holds a BFA and MFA in New Genres from the San Francisco Art Institute. Currently living and working in New York City, he has performed and shown at dozens of galleries, music venues, theaters, and museums (ex. SFMOMA, YBCA, CBGB).
Laura Hyunjhee Kim (lauraonsale.com) es una artista multimedia coreano-estadounidense que crea performances posdisciplinarias para reimaginar la interacción entre humanos y no humanos a través de formas de conocimiento encarnadas. Kim ha recibido numerosos premios, entre ellos el Premio Judson-Morrissey a la Excelencia en Nuevos Medios y el Premio Black Cube de Videoarte, y ha expuesto su obra en todo el mundo, incluyendo recientemente el Museo de Arte Moderno de San Francisco, KADIST, Pioneer Works, Harvestworks, Transfer Gallery, Telematic Media Arts, Vector Festival, Centro Cultural São Paulo, Festival de Arte Digital de Atenas y Teatro de Arte Digital en Dubái. Chris Corrente (chriscorrente.com) trabaja con video, performance, generación de imágenes, investigación y música. Su obra es absurda y discordante, y filtra los tópicos de la academia, el arte culto, la cultura pop y la cultura corporativa a través de una mirada irreverente. Corrente es licenciado y máster en Nuevos Géneros por el Instituto de Arte de San Francisco. Actualmente vive y trabaja en Nueva York, donde ha presentado sus obras en numerosas galerías, salas de conciertos, teatros y museos (por ejemplo, SFMOMA, YBCA, CBGB).
